Windows and Doors · Dover, PA
Some houses from Dover's 1970s boom may still have their original windows, now about 50 years old. A same-size replacement with no framing change is generally exempt from a building permit, while widening an opening is framing work that needs one. In a house built before 1978, ask whether the installer is EPA lead-safe certified, since pulling old frames disturbs paint.
