Contractors in Wrightsville

94 contractors serve Wrightsville. 88 are based in town.

Wrightsville sits on the Susquehanna, the line between York and Lancaster counties, where the covered bridge to Columbia was burned by state militia in June 1863 during the Gettysburg campaign.

The houses are old. Nearly half were built before 1940, and most of the rest went up before 1980, so contractors here work around plaster walls, older wiring and plumbing, masonry and porches that have seen a lot of winters. About half the homes are detached and close to a quarter are attached, so shared walls and shared gutters come into plenty of jobs. About two thirds of households own. Gas heats most homes, with some electric and a small share on oil.

This is a river town with high-water history: the gauge just upstream at Marietta set its record during Agnes in 1972. For permits, start with the borough office, and ask there which agency inspects the work.
