Shower Doors and Glass · York County
Glass work here splits between newer bathrooms and old ones. More than half of the county's homes were built before 1980, and older bathrooms rarely have square walls or level tile, so a frameless panel that fits a new build can need custom cuts or a framed door in an older house. Many shower door shops also handle storm windows, screens and storefront glass.
Ask whether the price includes a site measure, since custom glass is cut to order and usually can't be returned. Contractors doing $5,000 or more of home improvement a year must register with the Pennsylvania Attorney General, so look for the PA number on the estimate and check it in the state's online search.
A shower door should close the same way in year five as on day one. Ask to see one the installer hung a few years ago, not the showroom sample.
