Blinds, Shades and Shutters · York County
Insulating shades earn their keep through about 120 freezing nights a year, and summer highs in the mid 80s make sun control matter on south and west windows. Prewar homes often have tall, out-of-square windows and deep trim, which means custom sizes and careful measuring. Interior shutters suit older houses where the original trim is worth showing.
Ask who measures, and whether the price covers a remake if the order comes in wrong. For homes with young children, ask about cordless options. Motorized shades need power at the window, so ask who handles that wiring and whether it needs a permit.
Out-of-square windows are where cheap blinds go to die. Let the shop measure, so the mistake is theirs to fix.
