Masonry and Stone · New Freedom, PA
Chimneys and brick steps take most of the masonry wear here. Winters here bring many freezing nights followed by daytime thaws, so water gets into mortar joints, freezes and pries them open a little more each year. Ask whether the mason will match the existing mortar when repointing, and whether the chimney flue needs a look while the crew is up there.
