Decks · New Freedom, PA
Footings are where deck work gets local, because each municipality sets its own frost depth, so ask the builder what depth the borough requires. An uncovered deck 30 inches or less above grade is generally exempt from a building permit, while a higher deck or one at the main exit door needs one. Most of the builders who work here come from outside the borough.
