Electricians · Red Lion, PA
Knob-and-tube wiring went into houses from about 1880 into the 1940s, and about half of Red Lion's homes date from before 1940. No source counts how many still have it, but it has no ground, its insulation gets brittle, and burying it under new insulation is a fire hazard. Many insurers won't cover it. Have an electrician look before an attic gets insulated or a wall comes open.
