Gas heats about four in five homes in the borough, so furnace and gas water heater work leads, with electric heat in most of the rest. In older houses, old pipe and furnace insulation can contain asbestos, and nobody can tell by looking. Before an old system comes out, ask whether the contractor will have that insulation checked first.
